Khatana Law Office provides legal services to clients in Lloydminster, Wainwright, Provost, Hardisty, Macklin and surrounding communities in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Our services include residential real estate purchases, sales, refinancing and title transfers; family law matters, separation agreements and independent legal advice; wills and estate planning; civil disputes and small claims matters; contract review and preparation; incorporations and other business matters; and notary and commissioner services. The availability and scope of legal services depend on the circumstances of each matter and will be discussed with the client before representation is undertaken.

Fees and Retainers

Legal Fees depend on the nature, scope and complexity of the legal matter, as well as the work required and any applicable disbursements and taxes. The fee structure and terms of the retainer will be discussed with the client and confirmed before legal services are undertaken.

Urgent, expedited, after-hours, or time-sensitive matters may involve additional fees. Any additional fees will be discussed with the client in advance where reasonably practicable.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, disbursements, court filing fees, process server fees, third-party service charges, and applicable taxes are additional to legal fees and retainers and may vary depending on the matter.

 Retainers and legal fees vary depending on the nature, scope, complexity, urgency, and work required in the matter.

A written retainer agreement will confirm the scope of representation, applicable fees, billing practices, and payment terms.

No lawyer-client relationship is created until a written retainer agreement is signed and any required retainer funds are received. No legal work will commence before that time.
